Project Description:The project was an 8(a) set-aside design-build project. Cable Links was tasked at designing the project which consisted of working with NICET IV certified fire protection engineer to replace inconsistent King Fisher wireless equipment with a new BOSCH DACT communication device tied in to every FACP and hardwired to the nearest IDF for communication to the central dispatch monitoring center. The project required compliance with federal fire alarm code (UFC and NFPA 72) for life safety requirements.
The project was on a military base working with both the Navy and Marine Corps and required full time onsite Superintendent/Safety Officer and a Quality Control Manager for the duration of the project. The Safety Officer was responsible for the daily jobsite safety requirements in compliance with OSHA and EM385-1-1 initiatives. Additionally the Quality Control Manager was required to be certified through the Army Corps of Engineers through the Construction Quality Management for Contractors course. The project required strict scheduling guidelines making sure the project was completed on-time and on budget.
